Despite these broad dimensions, the rim weighs a mere 430 grams.

One significant feature of the RR 421 is its asymmetrical rim profile. This unique design counteracts the off-set created by disc brake hubs, improving spoke angles and allowing for more even tension. The result? A stronger, stiffer wheel that performs at its best during every ride. For optimal balance of spoke angles, ensure the offset is towards the drive side on the front and away from the drive side on the rear wheel during lacing.

An added bonus is the compatibility of the RR 421 rim with both standard clinchers or road tubeless tyres when used with DT Swiss tubeless tape and valves. Each product comes packaged with DT Swiss Squorx ProHead nipples and PHR washers to ensure building your dream bike is a breeze.

DT Swiss employs its Strength Boost Welding Technology (SBWT) to ensure a durable, reliable rim. This process creates a flawless welded join. In addition, PHR washers and convex Squorx nipples harmonise naturally with your selected spokes, improving stiffness and durability without adding extra weight. The black coating of the rim ensures a tough, durable finish with a unique process.

Please note the suggested maximum system weight is 120 KG. If you require a 20 mm wide rim for heavier duty use, we recommend considering the robust RR 521. The RR 421 comes pre-drilled for Presta valves, features an outer width of 24mm, inner width of 20mm and a height of 21mm. With PHR washers installed, the ERD is 601mm, and the maximum spoke tension is 1200N.
